Welsh registration and ULEN numbers must be included in all Welsh classes. Breed society numbers must be included in Connemara and M&M classes. Entries will not be accepted without Registration and Equine Herd number. The Committee Reserve the right to reschedule Classes/judges on the day to ensure smooth running of the show.
This show is affiliated to the Welsh Pony and Cob Society. Affiliation No AF000368.
Animals must be entered correctly in line with the rules, detailed in the WPCS Judging and Showing Handbook which can be found on the Society website www.wpcs.uk.com or requested from the WPCS office. Failure to comply with the rules may result in the withholding of awards.

Riding Horse Championship 40 (Classes 98-104)
GENERAL RULES AND CONDITIONS
Objections. Any exhibitor feeling aggrieved must take his /her protest in writing within 30 minutes of the completion of judging of the class and pay a deposit to the secretary of €150.
§ The Equine Anti−Doping & Controlled Medication (EADCM) rules of the WPCS of Ireland are the National Rules of Horse Sport Ireland (HSI), as may be amended from time to time and these National Rules are and shall be construed as the rules of the WPCS of Ireland apply to and are effective and binding on all show participants. By virtue of participation in Horse Sport, all participants/members shall be deemed to have agreed to be bound by and comply strictly with the applicable National Rules. Those national rules are available online at https://www.horsesportireland.ie/equine-anti-doping/
- Insurance. It is the responsibility of the exhibitor to insure all property and livestock on the showground or elsewhere which is his/her own, or which he/ she is responsible including public liability insurance
- Judging times. Judging times are as accurate as possible be can be subject to change.
- Age of ponies. All ridden ponies or horses must be four years old and over.
- Riding hats. Riders must wear a riding hat whilst mounted on horseback at all times and that they wear correctly fitting protective headgear which complies too the latest British and European Standards. The IAWPCS accept no responsibility for any injury arising from failure to comply with this regulation. Handlers of ponies or horses in the in-hand classes who are under 16 years old must wear properly secured hats to current British and European standards.
- Back Protectors. Must be worn in all Working Hunter Classes
- Contagious Disease. All exhibitors are asked to be aware of animals on the showground and ensure all exhibits are fit and well. No animal showing signs of injury or illness should be bought to the event.
- Stallions. In the interest of safety, stallions may only be ridden/handled by persons over 14 years of age, with the exception of small breeds Mountain & Moorland stallions, where the rider/handler must have attained their 14th birthday by 1st January in the current year. Stallions are not permitted in any young handler, fun classes, junior ridden M & M, lead rein or first ridden classes. All stallions must wear a bridle disc.
- Bridles. Unless otherwise stated any suitable bridle may be used. Ponies shown on the lead rein and first ridden may only be shown in a snaffle bridle.
- Spurs. Spurs must not be worn in any show pony, show hunter pony, intermediate SRT or ridden M & M classes.
- Dogs. Dogs must be kept on leads at all times whilst on showground. Please clean up after your dog.
- Manure. Please do not muck out your trailer/horsebox on the showground.
- Bins. Please use bins provide for litter.
- Health and Safety. The show organisers have taken all responsible precautions to ensure the health and safety of everyone present. For these measures to be effective, everyone must take all reasonable precautions to avoid and prevent accidents occurring. The show organisers shall not be liable for any claim in respect of damage, loss, injury or accident, to any person, horse or property howsoever caused. It shall be deemed a condition of entry that each entrant has read and understood these terms and conditions.
- Refunds. Entry fees are non-refundable. If the show has to be cancelled for any reason every provision will be made to re-schedule.
- Results. The judge’s decision is final.
- Objections will not be entertained from any person or organization not exhibiting in the same class as the animal to which the objection is raised.
- Tidiness and respect. Please clean up any mess you have made in the parking area before you leave and take your rubbish home with you.
- Jewellery. No wearing of face/body jewellery in any classes.
- Passports. Competitors may be asked for passports/height certificates in respect of height limits at any time when the horse or pony are on the showground.
- Right of Refusal. The organisers reserve the right to refuse any entry, without giving reason.
- Drug Testing. The organisers reserve the right to have any horse or pony drug tested while present on the showground.
- Behaviour and Respect. Please be advised that any person threatening or harassing a committee member will not be tolerated and will result in a ban for the duration of the show. The committee are all volunteers who give up their free time to run the show.
- Offensive behaviour. No behaviour of an offensive, abusive or unpleasant manner to any person at WPCS of Ireland will be tolerated. Any act of discourtesy to any judge, steward or any show official on the part of the competitor groom, rider, driver or agent of an animal, will at the discretion of such official to disqualify that animal from being judged, in which case entry fees, prizes and charges will be forfeited. Exhibitors are reminded of their responsibility for the actions of others within their party.
- No Classes or Championships can be altered by anyone other than the committee.
Horse Sport Ireland prize money eligibility.
All horses entering classes/in receipt of funds must be studbook registered with a specific breed documented within their studbook passport. The breed must be included in the returned show report.
o This can include main section studbook equines OR supplementary section studbook equines.
o HSI are not responsible for prize moneys due to ineligibility.
Any breed specific class/prize funded under this scheme must submit a Derogation to the Department of Agriculture, Food, and the Marine, this is a legal requirement. Evidence must be provided to HSI prior to drawdown of funds. Shows who may require a derogation will be contacted separately and advised to contact DAFM in relation to same.
· Prize breakdown must be confirmed to grants@horsesportireland.ie no later than 30 days before show date. Changes in prize fund breakdowns are not permitted, requested changes must be submitted to HSI in writing for the grant panel evaluation and decision approval
· Prize winners must submit full payment details via the linked payment form within 7 days of the competition or they will not receive prize money.
o HSI have provided shows with a ‘winners letter’ which MUST be provided to prize winners on the day of the show. The show must detail the placing and amount awarded. This letter includes details on how competitors redeem their prizes.
§ Horse Sport Ireland accept no responsibility for prizes not paid due to incorrect and ineligible prize letters provided by third parties.
o Horses must be registered in the correct ownership, with the PIO, to be in receipt of prize funds. In the case of a foal class, foals must be passported. Foreign bred/ registered horses must complete a movement notification with a DAFM Approved PIO before funding will be paid out.
o Riders will not receive prize funds until HSI has received permission, in writing or via email, from the registered owner of the horse.
o All entrants must ensure all information provided is accurate up to date.
o Horse Sport Ireland will not be responsible for unpaid prize monies due to failure by the competitor to submit their online form, equine ineligibility, failure by the show to supply the prize form to the competitor or incorrect bank details, contact details, email addresses, owner details and or prize results submitted to HSI in the show
report or any grievances arising between show/event/initiative/class participant and the organiser.
· Funding will be provided for prize money and breeders prizes only.
o It is the responsibility of the show/event/initiative/class to engage any additional suppliers as required for the class i.e., promotion, livestream, photography, announcers, judges, etc.
o All funding allocations are to be used as allocated under the determination of the grant approval panel.
o Horse Sport Ireland are not responsible for any additional funds allocated by the show/event/initiative/class derived from the event or sponsorship. The onus remains with the show to allocate those externally derived funds and for the payment of same.
o It is the responsibility of the show to ensure competitors are aware that prize money is ONLY for studbook registered animals. Non-studbook animals will not be eligible for funding. Horse Sport Ireland are not responsible for prizes monies relating to same.
· Breeder’s prizes will only be paid to breeders residing on the Island of Ireland.

Animals must be entered correctly in line with the rules, detailed in the WPCS Judging and Showing Handbook which can be found on the Society website www.wpcs.uk.com or requested from the WPCS office. Failure to comply with the rules may result in the withholding of awards.

GENERAL RULES AND CONDITIONS
Objections. Any exhibitor feeling aggrieved must take his /her protest in writing within 30 minutes of the completion of judging of the class and pay a deposit to the secretary of €150.
§ The Equine Anti−Doping & Controlled Medication (EADCM) rules of the WPCS of Ireland are the National Rules of Horse Sport Ireland (HSI), as may be amended from time to time and these National Rules are and shall be construed as the rules of the WPCS of Ireland apply to and are effective and binding on all show participants. By virtue of participation in Horse Sport, all participants/members shall be deemed to have agreed to be bound by and comply strictly with the applicable National Rules. Those national rules are available online at https://www.horsesportireland.ie/equine-anti-doping/
- Insurance. It is the responsibility of the exhibitor to insure all property and livestock on the showground or elsewhere which is his/her own, or which he/ she is responsible including public liability insurance
- Judging times. Judging times are as accurate as possible be can be subject to change.
- Age of ponies. All ridden ponies or horses must be four years old and over.
- Riding hats. Riders must wear a riding hat whilst mounted on horseback at all times and that they wear correctly fitting protective headgear which complies too the latest British and European Standards. The IAWPCS accept no responsibility for any injury arising from failure to comply with this regulation. Handlers of ponies or horses in the in-hand classes who are under 16 years old must wear properly secured hats to current British and European standards.
- Back Protectors. Must be worn in all Working Hunter Classes
- Contagious Disease. All exhibitors are asked to be aware of animals on the showground and ensure all exhibits are fit and well. No animal showing signs of injury or illness should be bought to the event.
- Stallions. In the interest of safety, stallions may only be ridden/handled by persons over 14 years of age, with the exception of small breeds Mountain & Moorland stallions, where the rider/handler must have attained their 14th birthday by 1st January in the current year. Stallions are not permitted in any young handler, fun classes, junior ridden M & M, lead rein or first ridden classes. All stallions must wear a bridle disc.
- Bridles. Unless otherwise stated any suitable bridle may be used. Ponies shown on the lead rein and first ridden may only be shown in a snaffle bridle.
- Spurs. Spurs must not be worn in any show pony, show hunter pony, intermediate SRT or ridden M & M classes.
- Dogs. Dogs must be kept on leads at all times whilst on showground. Please clean up after your dog.
- Manure. Please do not muck out your trailer/horsebox on the showground.
- Bins. Please use bins provide for litter.
- Health and Safety. The show organisers have taken all responsible precautions to ensure the health and safety of everyone present. For these measures to be effective, everyone must take all reasonable precautions to avoid and prevent accidents occurring. The show organisers shall not be liable for any claim in respect of damage, loss, injury or accident, to any person, horse or property howsoever caused. It shall be deemed a condition of entry that each entrant has read and understood these terms and conditions.
- Refunds. Entry fees are non-refundable. If the show has to be cancelled for any reason every provision will be made to re-schedule.
- Results. The judge’s decision is final.
- Objections will not be entertained from any person or organization not exhibiting in the same class as the animal to which the objection is raised.
- Tidiness and respect. Please clean up any mess you have made in the parking area before you leave and take your rubbish home with you.
- Jewellery. No wearing of face/body jewellery in any classes.
- Passports. Competitors may be asked for passports/height certificates in respect of height limits at any time when the horse or pony are on the showground.
- Right of Refusal. The organisers reserve the right to refuse any entry, without giving reason.
- Drug Testing. The organisers reserve the right to have any horse or pony drug tested while present on the showground.
- Behaviour and Respect. Please be advised that any person threatening or harassing a committee member will not be tolerated and will result in a ban for the duration of the show. The committee are all volunteers who give up their free time to run the show.
- Offensive behaviour. No behaviour of an offensive, abusive or unpleasant manner to any person at WPCS of Ireland will be tolerated. Any act of discourtesy to any judge, steward or any show official on the part of the competitor groom, rider, driver or agent of an animal, will at the discretion of such official to disqualify that animal from being judged, in which case entry fees, prizes and charges will be forfeited. Exhibitors are reminded of their responsibility for the actions of others within their party.
- No Classes or Championships can be altered by anyone other than the committee.
Horse Sport Ireland prize money eligibility.
All horses entering classes/in receipt of funds must be studbook registered with a specific breed documented within their studbook passport. The breed must be included in the returned show report.
o This can include main section studbook equines OR supplementary section studbook equines.
o HSI are not responsible for prize moneys due to ineligibility.
Any breed specific class/prize funded under this scheme must submit a Derogation to the Department of Agriculture, Food, and the Marine, this is a legal requirement. Evidence must be provided to HSI prior to drawdown of funds. Shows who may require a derogation will be contacted separately and advised to contact DAFM in relation to same.
· Prize breakdown must be confirmed to grants@horsesportireland.ie no later than 30 days before show date. Changes in prize fund breakdowns are not permitted, requested changes must be submitted to HSI in writing for the grant panel evaluation and decision approval
· Prize winners must submit full payment details via the linked payment form within 7 days of the competition or they will not receive prize money.
o HSI have provided shows with a ‘winners letter’ which MUST be provided to prize winners on the day of the show. The show must detail the placing and amount awarded. This letter includes details on how competitors redeem their prizes.
§ Horse Sport Ireland accept no responsibility for prizes not paid due to incorrect and ineligible prize letters provided by third parties.
o Horses must be registered in the correct ownership, with the PIO, to be in receipt of prize funds. In the case of a foal class, foals must be passported. Foreign bred/ registered horses must complete a movement notification with a DAFM Approved PIO before funding will be paid out.
o Riders will not receive prize funds until HSI has received permission, in writing or via email, from the registered owner of the horse.
o All entrants must ensure all information provided is accurate up to date.
o Horse Sport Ireland will not be responsible for unpaid prize monies due to failure by the competitor to submit their online form, equine ineligibility, failure by the show to supply the prize form to the competitor or incorrect bank details, contact details, email addresses, owner details and or prize results submitted to HSI in the show
report or any grievances arising between show/event/initiative/class participant and the organiser.
· Funding will be provided for prize money and breeders prizes only.
o It is the responsibility of the show/event/initiative/class to engage any additional suppliers as required for the class i.e., promotion, livestream, photography, announcers, judges, etc.
o All funding allocations are to be used as allocated under the determination of the grant approval panel.
o Horse Sport Ireland are not responsible for any additional funds allocated by the show/event/initiative/class derived from the event or sponsorship. The onus remains with the show to allocate those externally derived funds and for the payment of same.
o It is the responsibility of the show to ensure competitors are aware that prize money is ONLY for studbook registered animals. Non-studbook animals will not be eligible for funding. Horse Sport Ireland are not responsible for prizes monies relating to same.
· Breeder’s prizes will only be paid to breeders residing on the Island of Ireland.
